Art Opening: Carl Thomas Edwards

Join us for Carl Thomas Edward's opening night party w/ DJ TBA! 8:30PM-LATE

Carl Thomas Edwards received a BFA undergraduate degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2009, after completing two years of education at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. He shows work in Seattle as well as in Vancouver, Canada, participating with the Gropp’s Gallery Collective in a macro-regional effort to increase artistic and cultural dialogue.

Carl Thomas Edwards’ work is inspired by the milieu of the Pacific Northwest, as well as environmental and industrial edge conditions. These conditions reveal a unique set of aesthetics rigorously defined by geography and economics. Employing traditional oil painting techniques, he attempts to inform the viewer through landscape that can be perceived as both familiar and unfamiliar. The viewer has the ability to write their own history into each scene depicted allowing for a polymorphous experience.

Carl Thomas Edwards currently lives and works in the Greater Seattle Area.

His work will be displayed through August.
